New global research from Hogan Assessments finds that the characteristics and behaviors most frequently displayed by executives do not match the qualities employees say they want from leaders, revealing a significant gap in how organisations identify and reward leadership.
Drawing on responses from 9,794 employees across 25 countries, Hogan asked the powerful but often overlooked question: What do people actually value in a leader? Instead of defining leadership from the top down, Hogan examined it from the perspective of those most affected by it: the people doing the work.
The findings clearly show how leadership is practiced today and which qualities are truly desired. This makes the report a valuable resource for better understanding leadership roles and filling them more effectively.
